What cookies are
Cookies are small files a website stores on your device to remember things between visits. This site keeps them to a minimum.
How consent works here
Nothing beyond the essentials runs until you choose. The banner you see on your first visit asks whether you accept analytics cookies. Decline and the site works exactly the same, the only difference is that I cannot see visit numbers. You can change your choice at any time from the cookie settings link in the footer.
The cookies this site uses
Essential. One cookie stores the consent choice you make in the banner, so you are not asked on every visit. It holds nothing about you beyond that choice.
Analytics, only with your consent. Google Analytics sets cookies (named _ga and _ga followed by an identifier, kept for up to two years) to count visits and show me how the site is used. The data is aggregated and I do not use it to identify anyone.
Managing cookies yourself
Every browser lets you view, block and delete cookies in its settings. Blocking essential cookies means the banner will ask for your choice on each visit.
